The group did not make it in The United States, but gained huge popularity abroad. Ford's solo metal career was successful after the 1979 band breakup. She began taking voice lessons shortly after releasing her debut album 'Dancin' on the Edge'. Ford was unable to achieve much with either album, and she left the rock scene for about 10 years. The singer returned with her smashing record 'Lita' it was released in the year 1988. It was a big success for the single 'Kiss Me Deadly,' and the ballad 'Close My eyes Forever. However, her success didn't last long and she was absent for a number of years. In 1995 she released 'Black,' and 15 years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. Her latest album, Time Capsule was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
